41th BCS Exam New Rules by BPSC. The 41th BCS examination under new rules will be taken. In an effort to update the BCS (Bangladesh Public Service Commission: BPSC) system, the government has considered to devise new rules which could be in outcome from the next 41th BCS examinations in 2019.
The officially said that; The Proposal has been sent by Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) to public administration ministry in this regard. You know; according to the previous year annual report of the BPSC; BCS Exam Rules-2019 will be formulated in Bangla.
On the basis of proposal mentioned in the report, the BCS preliminary examination will be of two Hundred (200) marks and it will be taken two (2) hours. You know; the previous total marks 100 of one hour duration.
According to the new rules the bcs examination fee mentioned Tk 700 instead of the existing Tk 500, while the fee for the tribal candidates will be Tk 250 instead of the existing Tk 50.

In basis of the projected rules, bcs written examinations of all the subjects’ Part -1 will be of 200 marks with the duration of three (03) hours and the second (2nd) papers of all subjects will be of 100 marks with three (03) hours duration.
In the old system/earlier system, the marks of the first (1st) and second (2nd) papers of all subjects are 100 marks, while the duration is three (03) hours.
An applicant having marks less than 30% will be considered to have got no number against the existing rule of 25%. The lowest pass number of viva voce after successfully selected from written exam under the new system will be 50% instead of the existing 40% marks.
“The BPSC (Bangladesh Public Service Commission) has given us a proposal in this regard. And now we are working on it to place it to the secretaries committee. After the committee’s approval, it will be placed before to the Prime Minister (PM) of Bangladesh. On her approval, it will be sent to the president for promulgation of the rules.
The upcoming (41th) BCS exams will be taken under the new rules/system,” a high official at the public administration told UNB (United News of Bangladesh).
“In consultation with the law ministry, the draft BCS (age, eligibility and direct test for appointment) Rules-2013, prepared by the commission, is now under process at the ministry of public administration, as the BCS Examination Rules-1982 has become invalid following the Supreme Court judgment declaring the 7th amendment to the constitution illegal,” the member said. “I hope the new rules will be effective from the 41th BCS Exam,” he added.
Asked when the circular of the 41th BCS exams will be issued, he said, “We’re yet to fix the date as the public administration ministry is working on formulating new rules.”
Contacted, senior secretary of the public administration ministry Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury told UNB, “The BPSC has given some proposals to our ministry to bring changes in the BCS examination system to make it a time-befitting one. The present rules are written in English but now it will be in Bangla.”
